“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:20 (NIV)
Have you found yourself asking God, “Why me?” ONE MORE heart break! ONE MORE disappointment! ONE MORE day of bad news….one bad experience after another? Well, I’m going to propose this question to you…” Why not you?”
You see, every circumstance, trial, and test you go through is a learning experience. It builds you. It helps you to grow. It ultimately pushes you to lean and depend on God’s word to make right choices and to remain calm in the storm. Even in bad situations, God teaches how to trust him more and not our own flesh (feelings, emotions, thoughts). In your struggle, He is building your character–molding and making you to be more like Him.
Take Joseph for example in the book of Genesis. Joseph had some unfair things happen to him. He was hated by his own flesh and blood (his brothers). He was lied on (by the wife of the man who bought him). He was thrown into prison for something he did not do!! This was a recipe to be angry, bitter, and depressed. But, Joseph knew God was with him. He wouldn’t leave him or forsake him. Matter of fact, what was meant for evil (misfortune, bad) God turned it around for his good! He used Joseph’s situation to glorify Jesus and used him to save his entire family!!
So today, if you’ve had it with the “ONE MORE syndrome” (disappointment, misfortune, hurtful actions towards you), God is saying, “My child I have you– don’t worry it will all work out for the good.
